Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh City Branch was established by Decision No. 408/QD-BGDĐT dated February 23, 2026, of the Minister of Education and Training, based on the Ho Chi Minh City Branch of Foreign Trade University.
Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh City Branch inherits all the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure that have been built and developed over the past 33 years. Driven by the need to train high-quality human resources in the fields of economics and international business for Ho Chi Minh City and the southern provinces and cities, Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh City Branch has continuously improved the quality of training, promoted scientific research, expanded cooperation with the business community and international partners, and gradually affirmed its position as a center for training high-quality human resources in the fields of economics, international business, business administration, finance, and banking in the southern region.
The establishment of Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh City Branch marks a new development in the organizational model, enhancing the legal status and increasing the autonomy of the University in its operations in the southern region. This is an important prerequisite for the Branch to continue to leverage the University’s traditional strengths in innovation, deep international integration, and fulfill the University’s mission: training high-quality human resources; creating and transferring scientific knowledge to serve the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country. The program aims to develop students’ learning, research, and work skills in a modern international environment.
Currently, Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh City Branch has over 200 staff members working in 11 functional departments, 5 academic departments, and 1 affiliated center. The organizational structure of Foreign Trade University – Ho Chi Minh City Branch includes:
